Overview

Camden's Cooper River Park is found on both the north and south shores of Cooper River Lake. The 10.3-mile park trail includes a 3.7-mile loop with several extensions and spurs.

About the Route

The urban park is open daily from dawn to dusk and offers a paved loop path for bikers and pedestrians, as well as other recreational facilities such as a boathouse and large playground. The Cooper River Park Loop is about 3.7 miles and passes through the 346-acre park and encompassing wetland and grassland habitats and wildlife like egrets, herons, bald eagles and raptors.

On the northeast side of the loop, the trail continues along Park Blvd, crosses Grove St and heads southeast through Pennypacker Park, Wallworth Park & Pond, and Challenge Grove Park.

On the southeast side of the loop, the trail extends out about a mile along S Park Avenue through a residential area to Vesper Avenue.

On the west side of the loop, there are several sections of the trail in Farnham Park (1648 Baird Blvd, Camden).

Connections

The Cooper River Trail is part of the Circuit Trails, a developing 800-mile urban network of trails in Greater Philadelphia.

Parking and Trail Access

The Cooper River Trail runs between Pine St & Haddon Ave (Camden) and Wallworth Park (Park Blvd & Caldwell Rd, Cherry Hill).
